The last event of this years inter club league was held last friday evening over two laps of the Crannford circuit ,

taking the victory on the night was Dave Walsh once again with his super fast sprinting

I would like to thank all the riders that made an effort to take part in the league over the past 6 events from all over the county from the following clubs Barrow Wheelers , Slaney CC , SERC , Wexford Wheelers and our own riders from Slipstream CC

I would also like to thank the following people for helping to marshall the events Colette Bracken , Kevin Quigley , Paul Elliott , Gary McBride and Sam D'Arcy with out their help it would be impossible to stage these events . THANKS TO ALL .

Slipstream CC will stage an interclub championship race at the end of August and a TT league will start in september dates will be posted on this web page soon

WEEKEND ROUND UP

This week in  local cycling will be one to remember for our first lady cyclist young Ashling Fitzpatrick as she took the overall tital for the Junior section of the womens League in Dublin , this week we see Andrew Bracken take to the roads of the west of Ireland in the Junior Tour of Ireland , Andrew will be riding for the Leinster Team and all in the club wish him well , it was another good week for Slipstream CC riders with Denis McCarthy  confirmed as the overall winner in the  SERC Summer League 2010 and  Declan Kinch riding into 2nd place overall  congratulations to all the lads for a fine club performance over the six weeks of racing , both Denis and Declan are currently lyiing 3rd and 4th overall  in our own Inter Club League 2010 going into the last league race this Friday evening at the Monument , Gorey , limit group off at 7.15 pm sharp for two laps of Crannford

Well done to some of our younger members that performed well last Sunday in the SERC under age racing in Arklow , Kyle Murphy Slipstream CC showed what he can do when it comes to a bunch gallop in taking a fine win in the under16 event against a field of experienced riders from all over Ireland in conditions that yould not put a milk bottle out in if they where still around , his cousin Stephan Bracken rode a strong attacking race but could only manage to finish in 6th position on the day , while Jordan Bracken  Slipstream CC rode into a fine 2nd place to Elliott Young SERC in the under 10 race

Gary , Peter and Paul will take out a group every weekend meeting at the side of Aldi in Gorey at 10 am sharp new members are welcome to join in on the spin with the chain gang just bring along your bike in good working order and a cycling helmet.

The Slipstream CC would like to wish the very best of luck to local juniors from the south east region Andrew Bracken  Slipstream CC, Luke Maguire Wexford Wheelers and Tony Breen SERC for the up and coming Junior Tour of Ireland 2010 it will be a great experience for the lads to race against the very best from Ireland and Europe as the face some very tough stages in the west of Ireland . This race has been a major stepping stone in the past for Irish Juniors looking forward to greater things in their cycling career and we wish all 3 a safe and enjoyable race.

THE BETTY D'ARCY MEMORIAL RACE 2010

Please note that the Betty D'Arcy memorial race to be held on the 11th of July is cancelled for that date due to it clashing with the Mullingar 2 Day and the un-availability of the finish line camera team , the race will go ahead on Sunday the 5th of September further details will be made available on this web page and Cycling Ireland / Irish Cycling or by contacting Sam D'Arcy on 053-9480713 or 087-7515119.
